Natalie DiScala is the writer and editor of Oh! Travelissima, a blog dedicated to travel – and to doing it in style. I recently had the opportunity to chat with this blogger and new mom, and got to know a little more about her so that I can acquaint you with this accomplished woman.

By far the most exciting news to share is that Natalie and her husband Johnny, also a travel blogger known as Johnny Jet, recently welcomed a son into the world! As we talked on the phone, I could hear the sound of little baby Jack cooing happily in the background. It was so sweet and it warmed my heart. I could also hear how blissful Natalie sounded, could hear the happiness and love in her voice. I imagine it's going to be difficult for her to get any work done when there's a sweet little baby to stare at all day! Luckily she can do both – the success of her blog allows Natalie to work from home – what started out as a hobby and a labour of love has evolved into her full-time gig. It's not surprising though, since Natalie isn't new to digital media; she spent 15 years working as Digital Editor for Style At Home, creating content for the magazine's online channel, and she was doing what she loved. It was the most natural step for her to create a blog that allows her to continue living her dream job on her own time.

Oh! Travelissima brings together two of Natalie's passions – travel and style. The essence of the blog is about the beauty of travel and I love the name she created for it, a combination of travel + bellissima (Italian for 'beautiful'). On the blog, Natalie shares travel tips on where to stay, her travel essentials, how to pack effectively, and more so that you can travel more simply, efficiently and stylishly. She also shares where to eat – food being another passion of Natalie's. In fact, what Natalie loves most about traveling is getting to experience the foods of other cultures. Not that she'll say no to a gourmet meal at a fine restaurant, but experiencing the flavours of the world through local street markets is where it's at – that's where she's tasted some of the best food she's ever had, and bonus that it's an inexpensive option.

Want more? Here's what We Want To Know about Natalie DiScala:

I can't start my morning without…hugs and kisses from my son, my iPhone to catch up on the news of the day and a cup of English Breakfast tea.

I have a weakness for…designer bags and shoes I can’t afford and soft serve ice cream.

Most people don't know that I…used to be part of a community musical theatre group and that I still daydream of being a Broadway star!

Currently reading… An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser. Published in 1925, it's the story of an ambitious young man who finds himself at a moral crossroads in his quest to achieve the American dream. One of my favourite movies, A Place in the Sun, starring the devastatingly beautiful Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift, is strongly based on this book.

I want…to raise my son in a kind and gentle world that is safe and full of opportunity for him to pursue his dreams. Oh, and an iPhone 7!

Many thanks to Natalie for participating in #WeWantToKnow series!
