Pascal Label is a Montreal-based fashion designer of chic and luxurious outerwear. He designs his mostly-custom work under his eponymous label and presents his seasonal collections bi-annually at TW Toronto Women’s Fashion Week, which is where I first fell in love with his work a few years ago and have looked forward to seeing his latest collection at each runway show since. Pascal is especially sweet and so very appreciative of his success and of the outpouring of love that people have shown for his brand, and it was a pleasure getting to know more about him and the inspiration behind his work and his latest collection.

Far right: Canadian Olympic medalist Phylicia George walked in Pascal Labelle's runway show in March 2018.

Pascal has been in love with clothing since a young age and took his fashion inspiration from music, movies and celebrities when dressing himself. His unique fashion sense really stood out during his teen years and Pascal knew it was his calling to learn more about the industry; after high school he attended Collège LaSalle’s fashion design program where he learned the laborious tasks of tailoring men’s suits, hand-stitching and finishing techniques. Pascal’s dream was to create one-of-a-kind, luxury jackets using authentic materials such as fur, leather and cashmere and that is exactly what he has achieved with his brand of outerwear.

Pascal loves making custom pieces for his customers — he is passionate to know what the customer is thinking, what he is dreaming, what he wants, and takes pride in creating a piece that is special, proposing details that are unique for the customer that is in front of him. He puts so much love into each piece he designs and the more complicated the detail, the better! Pascal enjoys the process of creating intricate details. Pascal has great respect for all people and when designing his collections he wants to create for every type of person no matter their gender, race, etc. and that’s why he describes his latest collection with the theme “united by differences.” He takes inspiration from the people around him and has a desire to design what people want. Pretty soon, Pascal will be making his custom work more accessible to everyone by offering the ability for customers to remotely create their own jacket — he will offer different styles and parameters on his website where the customer can pick and choose their fabric and fit, and see a 3D version online before it’s made. Look for this coming in the next year.

All of Pascal’s pieces are handmade in Canada using recycled natural materials. His jackets are beautiful and well-made and if you would like to see more of his work, keep an eye out for the upcoming season of TW Toronto Women’s Fashion Week, because Pascal is busy designing his next collection! Want more? Here’s what #WeWantToKnow about Pascal:

I can't start my morning without...my coffee.

I have a weakness for... fashion and seafood.

Most people don't know that I...got 2 beautiful kids.

Currently reading...business or fashion magazine (everything around e-com, fashion trends, technology).

An important lesson I learned from a challenge I faced...the rule of 24 (8 hours work, 8 hours for hobby and family, 8 hours to eat and sleep). This is a secret to be happy in life. But to be honest, I got difficulty to respect it, cause I work to much.

I want...to be worldwide.

Thank you so much Pascal, for participating in #WeWantToKnow! See you at your next runway show!
