Silverware Upgrade

Why should this beautiful, antique silverware only be used once or twice a year for holiday dinners, or for special occasions?  This set, in the Mayflower pattern and made by McGlashan Clarke & Co., was handed down to me from my mum and aunt, who in turn inherited the set from their mother.  It's just too gorgeous to keep tucked away for most of the year.  So that's why I've decided to start using this set as my full-time set.  Goodbye to my plain, boring, discount store flatware!  I think I'm a pretty good cook, so why not celebrate each meal with special silverware?  Even mundane meals somehow taste better when eaten with antique knives and forks.

What do you think?  Should antique silverware be reserved for special occasions, or should it be celebrated everyday?
