New Year's Eve

Best Interior of 2014

Happy New Years' Eve! I can't believe how quickly 2014 went by. I suppose it's true what they say, time flies when you're having fun (and also when you're keeping busy). I'm very happy to look back at my personal and professional accomplishments this past year; 2014 was definitely a year of successes for me and I'm looking forward to pushing myself to accomplish even more in 2015.

Just like I did at this time last year, I would like to share my favourite interior of the year. My pick for Best Interior of 2014 is this room designed by Christine Dovey. Christine took on this client project as her room entry in the One Room Challenge and completed it in only 6 weeks! I love everything about it - the custom-designed moulding, the patterned marble floor, the exquisite art, the perfect furniture pieces, the sculptural light fixtures, the accessories, the styling - not a single detail was overlooked. I even like the pale pink wall paint colour - despite some recent posts of my living room that you might have seen, I'm not normally a fan of pink, but the colour works perfectly with everything else in this room.

Please do yourself a favour and visit Christine's blog to see the full reveal of her space, there are lots more beautiful photos from every angle, and also drastic before-and-after photos. When I decided to write another blog post about my favourite room of the year, I'd say it took about 0.001/10th of a second for this room to pop into my mind. It's one that I've been going back to often throughout the year to look at over and over again. Many thanks to Christine for putting out such amazing and impressive design work!

Best Interior of 2013

Happy New Year's Eve!

Another year is coming to a close, one that seemed to go by far too fast, but it was a great year full of personal accomplishments and I'm looking forward to the exciting challenges that the year ahead will bring. I would like to end this year of my blog by sharing with you my favourite interior of 2013 - Erika Bearman's Southampton home. Erika Bearman is the senior vice president of communications for Oscar de la Renta, and if her name doesn't ring a bell you'll probably instead recognize her by her online alias on social media platforms as OscarPRGirl.

Erika's summer home was featured in Elle Decor's October 2013 issue and was designed by Miles Redd. Redd's signature use of bold colour appears throughout the space. My absolute favourite space is the living room with its emerald green lacquered walls. I find myself returning to this image again and again and I even used it as the inspiration for a condo project I did last term.

The space is fun, daring and full of whimsy. The fuchsia in the guest bedroom is just the perfect, saturated shade of pink, and the black and white kitchen is to die for. Be sure to visit elledecor.com for the full feature and for even more images of the rest of her house.

It has been a wonderful year, thank you for taking the time to stop by and read my blog. See you on the other side of midnight!
