Red, White & Blue

Hello friends, hope you all had a lovely weekend. And for my American friends, I hope you're still enjoying your long weekend.  Since my mind is on the US today because of Memorial Day, I thought I would pull together a collection of red, white and blue interiors and create a mood board inspired by one of them. Though I'm Canadian and have always lived in Canada, I grew up surrounded by the American flag. My dad, a small percentage American, proudly hung the flag in several places around our family cottage. The red, white and blue colour scheme strongly reminds me of my dad and of my childhood.

Lacquered walls in my favourite shade of blue, black and white marbled floor, blue and white chinoiserie, and a bold pop of red on the door - Miles Redd, you are my hero.

Samantha Knapp's bedroom, as seen in Lonny mag. I just love the blue lamp base with red shade in front of those Chinoiserie drapes, so unexpected in red instead of the usual blue.

Living room designed by Mary McDonald, featured in House Beautiful. Damask, ticking stripes, Greek key - the patterns work flawlessly together because they are bound by the colours they have in, white and blue. If you want to re-create this look in your own home, I've prepared a mood board so that you can shop the look:
