The Foodie Diaries

If you follow me on Snapchat (@lesley_metcalfe) then you already know how much I love food and cooking, as evidenced by my weekly "cooking shows" and frequent snaps of what I'm eating. But you wouldn't necessarily glean that I'm a foodie from reading this blog, because I hardly ever write food posts. Why not?!! I'm surprised I don't write about food more often. I love eating, cooking, grocery shopping, shopping at farmer's markets, talking about food, and looking at pictures of food. I read cookbooks like they're novels. I read 'food writing' books - food & travel, history of food, the food industry, and food science. I watch documentaries about food. In fact, as I write this, I have the Netflix documentary series Chef's Table playing, which was preceded by a binge-watching of another documentary series called Cooked . I love cooking for myself and for others. Cooking is the only  activity that completely clears my head and takes me away from anything that's weighing on my mind. I love to invent new dishes and re-create and improve upon my signature recipes as much as I love trying out new recipes from cookbooks or that I've found online. I would love nothing more than to work with a recipe developer and publish my own collection of recipes one day. In the meantime, I'll satisfy this desire by posting more recipes on my blog.  :)
